Weekly Toro Station (週刊トロ・ステーション, Shūkan Toro Sutēshon) is a live service Video Game developed by BeXide and published by Sony Computer Entertainment, Inc. for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable and PlayStation Vita[1], which operated from November 11th, 2009 to September 2013.
Some of the features in March 28, 2013 shut down earlier, like the Fashion Show or Twitter Settings. It is the successor to Mainichi Issho, and it continued to present Toro Station broadcasts after Mainichi Issho's servers closed.
Unfortunately, due to the temporary nature of the service, after Weekly Toro Station's servers were closed the Toro Station broadcasts, both from Weekly Toro Station and Mainichi Issho, became no longer available in an official context. All that is left of the broadcasts are recordings posted online on various websites, and it is currently unknown if all broadcasts have been archived, meaning it is very likely there are some, maybe even many, Toro Station broadcasts that are lost forever.
Gameplay[]
Weekly Toro Station was essentially a continuation of Mainichi Issho after the latter's servers were closed. It continued to present broadcasts of Toro Station, except now on a weekly basis instead of the former daily broadcasts.
Weekly Toro Station also had a membership called Platinya and in game coins can be bought as a separate Add-On from the PlayStation Store.
Of note is how, in contrast to the apartment where Toro lives in in Mainichi Issho, Toro now lives in an abandoned lot outside. This was explained as a story element, and the player had to purchase the monthly membership to "pay Toro's rent" or else he would continue living outside and possibly die in poverty.
Like Mainichi Issho, after the online service ended, the game can be forced to play in an offline form through emulation.
Platinya[]
Platinya (プラチニャ会員) is the membership program of Weekly Toro Station that consists of an 800¥ 30-Day subscription that allows you to access exclusive content (for example: Toro Station back numbers).
